Almost Black Water Lily
Transform your pond with the captivating Almost Black Water Lily created by Slocum in 1993. This stunning aquatic plant showcases a deep, almost-black crimson bloom, creating a dramatic contrast with its lush green lily pads. The flower’s velvety petals unfold from a compact center, revealing a depth of color that shifts from deep burgundy to lighter magenta shades, complemented by vibrant yellow stamens.
To ensure thriving growth, use any top soil, with clayey soil preferred. Avoid cocopeat mixes. Water with potable water, like tap or borewell water, while avoiding hard water. This plant is a sun lover, needing at least 5 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight. It's a 100% outdoor plant. Plant it in a container with a minimum diameter of 24 inches and a height of 15 to 18 inches. Larger ponds or container will give larger blooms. Fiber, plastic or concrete pots are ideal.
