- Water: Potable water such as tap or borewell is suitable. Avoid hard water.
- Sunlight: Ensure at least 5 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight daily. This is a 100% outdoor plant.
- Pot/Container: Choose a pot or container with a minimum diameter of 30 inches and a height of 15-18 inches. Fiber, plastic, or concrete pots are most suitable as they retain some heat required for the plant's growth.
- Water Temperature: The 'Day Glow Water Lily' prefers warm water, ideally between 20-30°C (68-86°F). During colder months in certain regions of India, you may need to take measures to maintain water temperature.
- Water Depth: Plant at a depth of 1-2 feet (30-60 cm) of water. This depends on the size of your water lily and the depth of your pond, ensuring the leaves can comfortably reach the surface for optimal sunlight absorption.
- Water Quality: Clean, still or slow-moving water is ideal. Regularly monitor and maintain water quality to prevent algae buildup which can hinder growth.
- Feeding: A slow-release aquatic fertilizer can be beneficial during the growing season (usually spring and summer) to support lush growth and blooms. Over-fertilization should be avoided.
