Hybridised in 2009 by Florida Aquatic Nursery, This award winning water lily is 100% outdoor plant and thrives in the Indian climate. To ensure its healthy growth and abundant flowering, here are some guidelines:
Sunlight: Provide at least 5 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight. This is crucial for the plant's growth and blooming.
Soil: Use any top soil without cocopeat mix. Clayey soil is most suitable.

Water: Avoid hard water. Any potable water such as tap water or borewell water can be used.
Water Temperature: Maintain a water temperature between 70-85°F (21-29°C). During the hotter Indian months, you may need to implement measures to prevent the water from becoming excessively warm.
Water Depth: Plant at a depth of 12-18 inches (30-46 cm) in a container filled with aquatic soil or a specialized water lily planting mix. Ensure the container is weighted to prevent floating.
Water Quality: Clean, nutrient-rich water is essential. Regularly monitor and maintain water quality to prevent algae blooms, which can impede plant growth.
Feeding: While the 'Tropic Sunset' is relatively low-maintenance, occasional feeding with a balanced water lily fertilizer will encourage abundant flowering. Follow the fertilizer's instructions carefully to avoid over-fertilizing.
Pot/Container: Use a pot or container with a minimum diameter of 24 inches and a height of 15 to 18 inches. Fiber, plastic, or concrete containers are suitable, as they retain the heat required by these plants.
