Flourishing in India: The Wanvisa water lily thrives in the warm, humid climate prevalent across much of India. To ensure optimal growth, provide the following conditions:
- Soil: Any top soil without cocopeat mix is suitable. Clayey soil is most suitable as it helps in retaining water for the plant. Detailed planting & care guidelines are included with the plant. Please refer to the knowledge base & FAQ’s for more details
- Water: Avoid hard water. Any water that is potable is suitable. It can be tap water, or borewell water.
- Sunlight: At least 5 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight daily is crucial for abundant blooms. It's a 100% outdoor plant.
- Pot/Container: Use pots or containers with a minimum 30 inches diameter and 15 to 18 inches height. Fiber, plastic, or concrete containers are suitable, as they retain heat.
- Pest and Disease Control: Keep an eye out for common water lily pests like aphids or snails. These can be treated with appropriate organic or chemical controls, following manufacturer guidelines. Regularly inspect the leaves for signs of disease and take action as needed.
- Winter Dormancy: In colder Indian regions, the Wanvisa may enter a period of dormancy during winter. Reduce watering and fertilization during this time.
- Pruning: Remove any dead or decaying leaves to maintain the plant's health and aesthetic appeal.
